The crafts of India are diverse, rich in history, culture and religion. Throughout centuries, crafts have been embedded as a culture and tradition within rural communities. Handicraft is deeply frozen in society and contributes to preserving and sending traditions. Fashion has always been inspired from places and ancient crafts and arts of India. The department of Bsc.Costume and fashion designing had organized a fashion show that showcased the talents of the blooming designers from S4 C&FD as part of their department activity. Our designers had selected crafts from different states of India for inspiration and developed wonderful costumes for the show. The program was held on 14th March 2019 with gracious presence of our Executive director Mrs.Daly Sajeev, Principal Prof.Mr.Murugan Babu, Vice Principal  Mr.Joju C Akara and Dean of the Dept. of Commerce Dr.E.S Jalendran ,Administrator Ms. Manju Jose.The show was judged by Freelance Designer Ms.Neethu Joseph ex-student of Nirmala College and Ms.Sindu Francis Dof C&FD department. The show was also witnessed by the faculties and students of various departments. This program was reported to be a successful one.

 Nirmala College of arts and science celebrated its annual day on 8th march 2019 Friday. The event was inaugurated by Thrissur district police chief KP Vijayakumaran IPS and keynote address was delivered by Mr. Abraham (poet, critic and translator). Welcome speech was delivered by the principal prof.Murukan Babu CR. Executive director Dally Sajeev delivered the presidential address. Annual report was presented by the vice Principal Dr.Joju C Akkara. Felicitationary address was by the PTWA vice president Mr.Sreerangarajan. Vote of thanks was done by Prejin Paul,college union chairman. The awards and certificates for achievements in the academic and artistic domains were presented. Guests were both honoured with mementos. Entertainment programmes was hosted by legend event featuring DJ with water drums, fire drums etc...

D Zone 2019

The D zone art festival encompasses a wide range of art genres including music, dance, film, fine art, literature, poetry etc. and isn't solely focused on "visual arts. The current year’s festival is centered around the theme of survival, in commemoration of the flood that devastated the state. The event was hosted by the C Achuthamenon govt college, Kuttenelloor from February 16th to the 21st. The events were distributed over 6 different venues, Rosy, Appupan thadi, Panchami, Padmavyuham, Nangeli and Kerala Saynyam.

Students of Nirmala actively participated in some of the events. Group items included Duff muttu, gana mela, mime, oppana, skit, thiruvathira kali, vatta pattu and quiz. Students participated in the off-stage events such as cartoon drawing, story writing, clay modeling, collage, embroidery, light music, poem recitation, poem writing, mapila pattu, mimicry, water color painting, western music, pencil drawing, photography, poster making, essay writing, elocution, katha prasangam and instrumental music. The union members and teachers put in their whole hearted effort at getting the students stage ready. Trainers were hired for all the group events, to ensure that the student’s could scale up their performance.

A fresh new perspective was provided by Dr. N Sreerekha who led the seminar organised by the Department of English on 19 December 2018 in the seminar hall of the  college from 10.00-12.00 pm for the students of English Language Literature. The interactive session traced the evolution of dramathrough the ages. The in depth analysis outlined the features of the modern theatre and incorporated the recurrent themes and ideas. Prof. MurukanBabu C.R, the Principal of the institution introduced and welcomed the guest and Ms. Annie Sebastian proposed the vote of thanks.


The much awaited Annual Sports Day was held on Friday 7 December 2018, with great zeal,

excitement and frolicsome atmosphere.

Sports day is a day of honoring and awarding the talented students who are participating in sports inside the campus. Intramural tournaments help to reduce stress, enhance the leadership quality and a Good way to meet new people and make new friends for the students. For that our college conducts house wise Tournaments in four disciplines for both Men and Women separately.

The dignitaries present on the occasion were, Director Ms. Daly Sajeev, Principal Prof.Murukan Babu C R, and Vice Principal Dr.Joju C Akkara, Dean of commerce and management Dr.Jalendhran E.S.The programme started with the welcome address by college union secretary Liji A J. The College Principal declared the sports meet open by hoisting the flag and accepting the march past honors. The general captain Mr.Yadhu Prasad lit the flame in the cauldron and handed it over to the champion of the college. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the Sports captain. The function was graced by the Director Ms. Daly Sajeev and she gave the prizes to successful students of the annual sports day events.

Quiz Competition Legal Rights of Women


As the part of Nationwide Quiz Competition organized by National Commission for Women, the quiz club had conducted the competition on 05.12.2018 at the college auditorium. 70 students were participated in the competition, where they were given with 75 multiple choice questions and they were asked to complete the questions in one hour. The students were well prepared and they participated well in the competition.



World AIDS Day is held on the 1 st  December each year and is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died. Nirmala college of arts and science organized an awareness class about AIDS on 3/12/18 at seminar hall. All s6 students attended the class. World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day, held for the first time in 1988.

Globally there are an estimated 34 million people who have the virus. Despite the virus only being identified in 1984, more than 35 million people have died of HIV or AIDS, making it one of the most destructive pandemics in history.

Today, scientific advances have been made in HIV treatment, there are laws to protect people living with HIV and we understand so much more about the condition. Despite this, people do not know the facts about how to protect themselves and others, and stigma and discrimination remain a reality for many people living with the condition.

World AIDS Day is important because it reminds the public and Government that HIV has not gone away – there is still a vital need to raise money, increase awareness, fight prejudice and improve education. The federal theme for the 2018 observance is “Saving Lives through Leadership and Partnerships.”

Mr.Mijeesh,health inspector of Meloor was the chief guest. Mr.vinod and Deepa of lovefeast,Thrissur conducted the class. They were the victims of AIDS. They shared their life story and experiences. Students took the pledge during the session and they put red ribbon inorder to commemorate people who died because of HIV.




A commentator competition (newspaper making) was held for the students of S1BMMC &BA English on 1 December 2018 in room no211 of our college from 1.00-3.00pm.It was held under the guidance of Ms.Namitha Sunny who explained the rules and regulations. Each team with two members had to create newspaper on their own within the stipulated time. The creativity and talent were on display in each one of them. Organic is the new cool statement for the future and hence to give more knowledge about eco-friendly and sustainable fabrics by Arjun Vasudev (designer and owner of fashion studio that initiates eco-friendly outwears). our Dept.of Bsc.C&FD had conducted an external seminar on 30/11/2018 from 10:30 am to 1:30pm in the seminar hall. The seminar was attended by all the three batches and also the faculties of the department


As a part of Social Club activity, Nirmala college of Arts & Science, Meloor was organized a Blood Donation Camp on 27/11/2018 in association with IMA Blood Bank, Thrissur.

Nirmala College of Arts & Science, Nirmala College of Health Science, Nirmala College of Engineering and NirmalaInstitue of Technology (Poly technic) students donated their blood with pleasure. Around 200 students have participated in this camp. IMA distributed certificates for blood donors. IMA gave a memento to the college as a token of love.

Giving an opportunity for students of all the departments of Nirmala Arts and Science, the Department of C&FD had organized a fashion event, ‘Nirmala Beauty Fest 2k18’ on 23 rd November 2018 at 11.00 am to 2:00 pm at Nirmala College of Arts and Science, Meloor. There were 36 students who actively participated in the show as a competition,expressing themselves in the best possible version. The judges for competition were Ms.Sindu Francis (HOD of Bsc. C&FD department) and Ms.Nehla (fashion designer at Fashion Bay,Thrissur).

Speak for India – speech competition report



Speak for India is an initiative by Federal Bank in association with The Times of India Group to encourage young, dynamic and enthusiastic minds across the ation to raise their voice on pertinent issues and play the role of change maker in society. The event offers college students a podium to explore their awareness, insights and perspective on contemporary topics.

Nirmala college of arts and science , Chalakudy was the district centre. The  speech competition held in the college auditorium on 19/11/18. Speak for India – Kerala edition is a journey to find the most vibrant, confident and persuasive debater from the state of Kerala. The Kerala Edition held in 2 languages –Malayalam & English. Phases of evaluation would include district, zonal, semi-final and the final round. At the initial level the topic was ‘kerala flood 2018 was man made or natural calamity. Students expressed their for and against points. The allotted time was one minute; more than 60 students participated in the competition.

The prize would be awarded to the orator selected by the judging panel based on style, clarity and conviction of thought and lucidity of articulation.




The Department of Tourism and Hotel Management conducted INSPIRO ‘18 the Grand finale of ‘Research on Tourism Product’ and an external alumni Seminar on 19th November,2018 at Seminar hall from 10:00AM to 3:30PM. S4 BTTM students presented on different tourism attractions in Kerala such as Greenix Village Fort Kochi, Mattanchery Palace, Kerala kalamandalam and Muziriz Heritage Tourism Project. The judges for the competition were Mr. Sifad Siddique (Co-founder of Holiday Hawks, Kochi), and Mr. Vivek K.R.(Customer Relationship Executive at Cochin International Airport). All the teams are presented well.

There is also an external seminar held in connection with INSPIRO’18. Mr.Sifad Siddique, The Co- Founder of Holiday Hawks, Kochi, handled the session with the topic “Opportunities in Travel and Tourism Industry”.

As a part of the event, Tourism Club was formed and named as PARIVARTHAN. Mrs. Daly Sajeev, The director of Nirmala Group of Institutions inaugurated the club. Mrs.Daly sajeev, Director of Nirmala group of institutions and Dr. Joju C. Akkara, The Vice Principal of Nirmala College of Arts and Science were address the students.




Department of Management had organized an Industrial visit for S4 and S6 BBA students on 19 th November 2018 from 9.30 Am to 1.30 PM at Tolins Tyres Ltd, Kalady.76 students were accompanied by two teachers, Mrs. Manjula Devi Sajeev and Mrs. Vandana Sreeraj.The students visited 3 production units of the factory and had lot to learn on the processing of a tyre from a latex. In a Whole, this visit was a great value addition.

Media Visit

The students of S1-BMMC and S5-BA English, Nirmala College of Arts and Science, Chalakudy, went on a Media Visit on 7/11/2018, at Mazhavil Manorama studio, Aroor.  Students got a great opportunity to attend a comedy show “Thakarpan Comedy”. It helped the students to know in detail about the technical side of the program and also the step by step process in producing a TV show. Students were extremely happy to meet different celebrities in the studio. Apart from their academic studies it was a great exposure for the media students to know the practicalities of media production.

Department of Management had organized a training programme at CIAL, Nedumbassery for S1BBA students as a part of Add-On aviation. The training stretched from 25th October till 3rd November for 34 students. It included presentations, terminal visits both domestic & international, warehouse, cool store cargo visits & ground handling classes .The students are happy to receive this opportunity and had an endearing training session.


Nirmala College of Arts and Science Meloor industry visit

As a part of Add-On course of  S1 BBA Logistics, an industrial visit was organized  on 2/11/2018 at Cochin Port Trust, Ernakulam from 8 AM to 3 PM. The students were initially taken to wharf, where they saw many vessels carrying commodities and Dredgers. From there they were taken to Cochin port Container Freight Station. This is a warehouse  stocking imported and export  goods ;here students were shown different product packaging, bills , procedures , pallets and even loading and unloading of goods into the containers. The final visit was to the Cochin Port Trust Maritime heritage Museum, where a good collection of rare Navigational equipment and photographs are displayed.

Drawing is not what one sees, but what one can make others see.Keeping this in mind and to explore the creative potentials and view point of the young mind of our S1 C&FD students, Costume and Fashion Design department conducted a theme based pencil drawingcompetition on 2 nd November 2018 at 1.00 pm to 3.30 pm at Nirmala College of arts and science, Meloor. EXTERNAL SEMINAR - Department of Costume and Fashion Designing


An Alumni class was held on 09/11/18 by Department of Costume and Fashion Designing from 1.00PM to 2.00 pm at S1 BSc. C & FD class room. The session was regarding opportunities and the role of fashion designers in garment industry. The class was taken by Mr. Vishal Jose, Fashion designer of Fashion Bay Boutique, Thrissur. The class was very interactive and fruitful. The class was regarding the Signature ’18 - designer collection show and the class stressed about the utilization of opportunities that every student get. The HOD of C & FD Dept., Ms.Sindu Francis., the Alumni activity co coordinator Ms.Cija.K G and Ms. Haima Menon K were attended the seminar.


The Deparatment of  Hindi conducted speech competition  on the topic of “STHREE OUR SAMAJ” on October 31st   from 1 to 2pm in room No.207 .Miss Jayasree judge the competition.

Department of Computer Science conducted hardware presentation on 23/10/2018 for S1 BCA and S1 B.Sc CS students under the guidance of Ms. Nigil Joseph. Mr. Abhin K.M, Ms. K.R. Deepa, Ms. Aneena Anto and Ms. Sonal Babu of S3 BCA presented the hardware components such as Motherboard, SMPS, Ports, Adapters, and Network Cables etc. Computer Hardware is the physical components of the computer which refers to the tangible components of a computer system. They gave a good awareness about the internal components of the system. After the presentation, 6 students (Mr. Emmanuel Shaji, Mr. Alex Antony, Mr. Nibin E.S., Mr. Robin Kurian, Mr. Nikhil T. Lal, and Mr. Lijo Wilson) of S5 BCA gave a workshop of hardware components.

Department of Computer Science conducted a seminar on topic “Cyber Security” on Friday 9 th  November 2018 for S1 BCA and B.Sc Computer Science students. The session was taken by Mr.Vikas Gopinath, Director of Cyber Academy and Forensic Education, Trivandrum. It was an informative session which deals with the current social networking issues and remedial measures for cyber crimes. The session started by 1:30 PM till 3:30 PM. It was an interactive session and our students shared their experiences in internet usage.

The final round included a group presentation on the topic “Our idea and our action plan for a better Kerala tomorrow”. The Judges for the competitions were Mr. Fazalu Rahman(South Divisional Manager, ACER India Ltd), Mr. Vishnu M S( Operations Manager, Lonar Informatics) , Mr. Saneesh Kumar and Ms. Linta Binesh (Faculties of Department Of Management). All the teams participated very well.

Department of Costume and Fashion Designing had organized an industrial visit on 16th October 2018 at Alagappa Textile Mills located in Amballoor and  Kerala Khadi and Village Industries Association, Avinissery for 43 students of 1st year Bsc. C&FD. The visit was organized with prior permission and guidance of Principal Prof. Murukan Babu. C. R and Vice Principal Dr. Joju C Akkara. C&FD department HOD Ms. Sindu Francis and Class tutor Ms. Cija. K. G gave guidelines to the students. Ms. Jismy Jose and Ms. Cija. K. G were the coordinators for this whole industrial visit.

We started from the college campus at 9.45am. After reaching there we saw various stages of yarn manufacturing process. The guide Ms. Ambily was explained about the various process. In the afternoon we made our way to Kerala Khadi and Village Industries Association, Avinissery. The guide Mr. Abhilash showed us the preparatory process of yarn making, dyeing and weaving. The visit was highly informative and resourceful for the students about various aspects of spinning, dyeing and weaving techniques.

Union Inauguration IGNITRA 2018 – 19


Nirmala College of Arts and Science Meloor, has embarked its activities for the academic year 2018 _19 with the union inauguration on October 15, 2018.

 The programme commenced at 10 am in the morning with a welcome dance by our students. Then the official function began with a prayer song. Professor Murugan Babu C R delivered the welcome address. It was followed by the presidential speech from our managing director Mrs Daly Sajeev. The chief guests of the day, honourable chief Justice of high court, Mr Kemal Pasha and Mr Engandiyoor Chandrashekaran inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp, where after the hon chief Justice conveyed the inaugural address and declared the college union as inaugurated, then the college magazine Mughapusthakam, for the year 2017_18 was released. This magazine is an attempt to summarise and depict the pulsating campus.

 Followed by the inaugural address of the chief guest, Mr Engandiyoor Chandrashekaran, the arts club activities was inaugrated and the college Arts logo Dhwanika was revealed. Afterwards, the newly elected chairperson Mr. Prajin Paul declared the initiation of the NSSC- Nirmala Students Satisfaction Council. The event proceeded with the delivery of felicitations by Dr E.S Jalendran, Dean of Commerce and Management and Sri Rangarajan, PTWA president of Nirmala College of Arts and Science Meloor. The highlight of the event was the oath taking ceremony. The new torch bearers of our college took the oath and was lead by the staff advisor Mr K Krishnakumar. The official function concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr.Abin Babu.

Department of Computer Science has conducted a debugging competition on 14/8/2018. 11 students were participated in this competition. Delvin Davis of S3 BCA won the First Prize and Akshay K.S. of S3 BCA won the Second Prize.

The creative skills can develop through an art which can carry them towards new ideas, new experience and new challenges.

A creative hand art competition was organized for S1, S3 and S5 BSc. Costume and fashion designing students on 9th October 2018 from 10 AM to 3.30 PM at Nirmala College of Arts and Science, Meloor.

The main aim of this competition was to recognize the hidden talents, and to develop them more and to lead it towards the direction of success. The students showcased their creative skills in painting with amazing hand art. Each of the art was done so beautifully and it was a treat to the eyes.

The add on certificate distribution of “Networking Concepts with Security” of first year BCA and BA(MM) 2018 batch , “PHP with WordPress” of 2nd year BCA and BMMC 2017  batch and “3DS MAX” of 2nd year BMMC 2017 batch held on September 26, 2018. The program started with a prayer followed by welcome speech by Alin Anna Jose of S5 BCA. Director, Ms. Daly Sajeev addressed the students. Mr. Samjith Kollara, Director of Infaum Edutech distributed the HP certificates for the eligible students. Nithin T.R. of BMMC 2017 batch selected as the top scorer of “PHP with WordPress” and Shima S. of BCA 2018 batch selected as the top scorer of “Networking Concepts with Security”. Mr. Shafier Pallath and Ms. Missy Varghese, HR executives of Infaum Edutech, Principal Prof. Murukan Babu C.R., and Vice Principal Dr. Joju C. Akkara were present on the diocese. 

Fruits & Vegetables Carving Competition

 Women’s club of Nirmala College of Arts and Science, Meloor, Chalakudy had organized a “FRUITS & VEGETABLES CARVING” on 19th July 2018 in our college seminar hall from 1.30 P.m. to 2:00 P.M The competition was conducted under the guidance of Raisa Sulthana  miss (teacher in charge) and elected women’s club coordinators.  It was a team competition. One team consisting of two students. The objective of the competition was to bring out the hidden creativity and knowledge bestowed within the students in the fruits and vegetable carving. The participants were judged on the basis of their creativity. There were 28 team who participate in this competition.

Cartoon Competition

 As part of World Justice Day (17/7/18) Nirmala College of Arts and Science conducted a cartoon competition on 20/7/18, Friday at S5 BCA classroom. The duration of competition was one hour. The topic was “The Art of Resistance”. More than 40 students participated .All the cartoons reflect the theme of resistance. Students express their autistics talents through their cartoons.

Debate and Group Discussion Club

 A debate and group discussion for students in the college, was conducted at the seminar hall on 13th July 2018.  The programme started at sharp 1.30pm with a small prayer.  Mr..Jalendran  (Dean, dept of commerce) inaugurated the function.Mr.Jiss Jose (dept of commerce) delivered few words about the club and it’s working. Mr. Midhun Dinesh (leader) gave few ideas about the rules and regulations of Group discussion. There were 30 participants and the GD was conducted in two rounds. The first round was conducted in two sessions. Women Safety and Demonetization were the topics respectively.

 As part of social outreach activity, Socialclub members had collected 178 notebooks, 201 pens and 10 pencils and the same was distributed on 26/6/2018. With the guidance of Ms.Bindhu V, Ms. Nigil Joseph and Mr. Saneesh Kumar, 10 of the social club representatives had gone to the SNUP School, Kunnappilly. Teachers and Students ofSNUP School welcomed the social club members. SanjayJaison, theSecretary of Social Club along with Nandana A.S., the treasurer handed the books and pens over to the Students of SNUP School. Teachers of the school showed their gratitude by words and also they had appreciated the efforts taken by the social club.Social club representatives assured the school authorityby promising that they can count on Social club of Nirmala College of Arts and Science for any other social relevant activities.

The main objective of the literary club is to provide a platform to promote creativity through various events like story writing competitions, debates, quizzes, and spelling bees. A Malayalam recitation competition was held under the banner of the club for the students on 22 June 2018 in the seminar hall from 2.00-3.00 pm. Nirmala college of Arts & Science celebrated International Yoga Day. Former student Mrs.Priyanka VS was the chief guest. She won the national yoga championship gold medal and international silver medal for yoga. Santhosh KB, Giresh MA, Pratheesh KP (Heartfulness institute Hydrabad based) gave meditation classes for all the students. She was honored by Mrs. Dally sajeev,Director of Nirmala Group.   Principal prof. Murukan Babu CR delivered welcome speech and vice principal Dr.Joju C  Akkara proposed vote of thanks.

World Environment Day

 Nirmala college of Arts and Science, Meloor, celebrated World Enivironment Day with the motto ‘Beat plastic pollution’ on 5th June 2018 .It is presided overby Nature club. The programme was inagurated by Ms. K. Keerthy IFS (DFO chalakudy) with the great message of reuse & refuse plastic. Saplings were handed over to the students, Principal Prof. Murukan Babu C.R., Vice Principal Dr. Joju C. Akkara, Dean Dr. E.S. Jalendran along with the chief guest planted the saplings in the campus and the premises. Nature club members effectively imparted the message of conserving the nature to the students.



On 4th June 2018 Nirmala College of Arts and Science arranged a formal ceremony in order to welcome the students to a new academic year.


A parents teachers meeting was arranged for S4 B.Com B, and BBA on 27 February 2018 from 2.00-4.00pm in the seminar hall of our college. The Principal Prof. Murukan Babu C.R,the Vice Principal Dr.JojuC.Akkara and the Dean Dr. Jalendran E.S addressed the parents and the students on the occasion.  The department of commerce conducted an external seminar on the Topic "moral Values". The class was led by Mr. Joshy Joseph, speech ministry member, sasneham retreat team on 22/02/2018 from 10.00 AM 12.30PM in the college seminar hall for S2 B.COM &S2 BBA students.The session was started with a prayer by Sruthy C.S and welcome speech was delivered by Neeraj Kalathil Manoj S2 B.Com C. and values based on what a person or society believes are the right, proper or acceptable ways of behaving. And he point out how to respect the parents and teachers. This session was very informative and unique experience to the students. They realize that the moral values are significant to the society.


“Art speaks where words are unable to explain” keeping this in mind and to explore the creative potentials in the minds of our students, a table art competition was conducted for S4 and S6 BSc Costume and Fashion students on 3rd march 2018 at   Nirmala College of Arts and Science, Meloor from 12 PM to 4 PM. The theme of the activity was “Contemporary Art ......”, students showcased their creative skills and came up with amazing art work. 


On 19 Feb 2018 Department of English conducted a Drama competition at the seminar hall from 10.00- 12.30 pm. The programme started with a prayer, and then Gopika of S2 BA delivered a warm welcome speech. Students of BA ENGLISH LITERATURE presented different scenes from the works of William Shakesperare.The competition started with the presentation of drama “King Lear” by S6 BA ENGLISH. The second presentation was by S4 BA, they performed “Macbeth”. Finally S2 BA presented “The Seven Stages” from As You like It. The judges were LissyKP (HOD OF ENGLISH DEPT) LekhaVasudevan(HOD OF IT DEPT). The occasion was graced with the presence of Director of Nirmala group Dally Sajeev. First prize was secured by S4 BA ENGLISH and second prize was secured by S2 BA ENGLISH. The BEST ACTOR was Deepika of S6 BA (character-cordelia).Programme was concluded by vote of thanks by MeghaMohanan of S2 BA.



The Department of Malayalam conducted a seminar on the topic "VimarshanaSahithyam-M.P.Paul,KuttikrishnaMarar,JosephMundassery" On 17-02-2018 from 2.00-3.00 pm in the college seminar hall for S2 batches B.Com A &C,      BA Eng,BTTM.It began with a prayer recited by the students and seminar conducted by the students Joyanna Joseph S2 BAEng ,Harikrishnan S2 BTTM,Anex S2 BTTM.Welcome speech was delivered by ChelsaShaji and proposed vote of thanks Anjali S2 BA Eng.



The Department of Hindi conducted a seminar on the topic “Hindi Kavyam-Chayavad” on 17/02/2018 from 2.00 to 3.00 pm in the classroom for S2 BA Eng, BTTM, Bcom batches. It began with a prayer recited by the students .The seminar was led by Megha Mohanan S2 BA Eng, Chaithra Manoj S2 BTTM, Arya Prasad S2 BTTM, and Lakshmi Priya S2 Bcom students. The Seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Latha K T, HOD of Hindi Department.


 Department of Commerce had organized an Intra – collegiate Treasure Hunt “AMAZE”on 9th Feb 2018, Friday as a part of “LAKSH 2018 “.The  event started at 10.30 A.M with 40 teams of    four members. The participants were Nirmala college of Arts and Science, Nirmala College of Engineering and Nirmala College of Health Science.


Laksh 2018, the Nirmala Fest was hosted by the Nirmala College of Arts and Science on 9 Feb 2018. The English Department choose to find the Best reader and Best speaker through “The Voice” .  It provided an incredible opportunity for the students to test their speaking and reading skills. A passage was given to the students to read aloud. The topic for speaking was given on the spot. More than 40 students came to exhibit their innate talent. Ms Lissy KP and Ms Roshini were the judges. The competition was held at Room no: 208 from 9.30 am – 2.30 pm.

Creative Spring ’18

As a part of extra curricular activities, Department of Computer Application conducted a paper presentation competition Creative Spring’18 on 14th February 2018 from  10.30 am  to 4.00 pm in the Seminar Hall . From the Preliminary round, 5 teams were selected for the competition. Participated  teams  were Automots, Galactico from S4 BCA and The Unknowns, Pegasus, Housestark from S6 BCA. The duration for each presentation was 30 minutes. The presented papers explored novel ideas from different frontier areas of Computer Science.  Mrs.Anshadha Nishad, former faculty of Nirmala college of Information Technology and Mrs.Raisa Sulthana, faculty from Tourism department of Nirmala College Of Arts And Science judged the presentation. Principal Prof. Murukan Babu C.R enlightened the students with his words of motivation. Vice pricncipal Dr.Joju C.Akkara presented a memento to the external judge, Mrs.Anahadha Nishad.Teams from  S6 BCA Housestark, Pegasus and  The Unknowns  won the first, second and  third prizes respectively. 





On 5th February 2018 Monday, English department had organized a final presentation in our college seminar hall. The programme had started at 10.45 am, with the prayer, welcome speech, was done by Sangeetha Kumari(S6 BA English). The judges were Dr. Hemalatha faculty of NCAS &  Rema devi, the faculty of NICE. The presentation had done by the three teams. The topic which was allotted to the teams is about the “Various ages of the English literature”. All the three teams had done by their part very well.
The first team was 'pilgrims' from S4 BA English. The topic which was allotted to them is the Puritan age. They explain about how it influences among the people etc. The Second team was the 'Victorians’ who belongs to the same classes which, they explain about the Elizabethan age. The final team, who presented, is the team 'unicorns' who delivered the presentation related to the topic the 'Romantic age’, with the help of PowerPoint as well as chart works, three teams actively participated in session. After each presentation there were a question answering session in which all the teams had answered it clearly. Through these we got many information related to the various ages of English literature. Finally, the judges announced the Prize. Our respective Principal Prof. Murughan Babu C.R. gave them prizes. The First Prize goes to 'Victorians' of S4 BA English. The Second prize is for 'piligrims'of S4 BA English. And the third prize is for the 'unicorns' from S2 BA English. The vote of thanks was delivered by Wilfin Winson.


 I’m not going to buy it, I can make it.

An exhibition on material exploration was organized on 31/1/2018 Wednesday at 2pm for S2 C&FD students at Nirmala college of arts and science, Meloor. Beautiful craft works by using waste materials was displayed by the students.

The activity was a great way to enhance student’s creativity and thinking skills. Ms. Ancy George (owner of Joan boutique, Chalakudy) was the external judge. Students enjoyed this activity and they learned to make beautiful products from waste materials.




Department of commerce conducted the product presentation final round competition on 30th January, 2018.  29 teams were participated in the preliminary round of which 6 teams were selected for the final round. The event started with prayer followed by welcome speech by Jinu Joy, the Secretary of Commerce club. All the teams presented their product with enthusiasm.The judges for the event were Mrs. Shyama Raj O, Branch Manger, Crypters Info Systems & Solutions Pvt.Ltd, Thrissur,Dr. Jalendran E.S,  Dean of Commerce & Management, Mrs. Raisa Sulthana, Faculty of Department of Tourism. Prof. Murukan Babu C.R, Principal NCAS, ownered the judge with memento. Dr. Jalendran E.S declared the winners. The prizes were distributed by Mrs. Daly Sajeev, The Director of Nirmala Group of Institution and congratulated all the participants & appreciated the efforts made by the activity co-ordinators. The event concluded at 3.45 pm with vote of thanks by Nazmal Nazeer, the Joint Secretary of Commerce club .

Quiz Club named as “QUEST’ was inaugurated by Principal Prof. Murukan Babu by doing the logo releasing. The entire Quiz Session consist of three Rounds. The first round was a written test where the children were given 30 minutes to answer. After the written test, the 4 teams who scored the highest marks selected to the next round. The Second round was GK round and the third round was Rapid Fire. The Students were well prepared and competitive .A tight competition was held throughout the session .The winners of the completion were Akshay and Anagha from class S4 BCA.



A Group Discussion on topic ‘Impact of GST’ was conducted by GD and Debate club on 19/01/2018. The session was conducted by Mr. Suhaib of S6 B.Com Finance. The club members have actively participated in the discussion and brought about various points regarding the topic.

The Rajya Sabha has cleared a constitutional amendment to bring about a system of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in India. It is perhaps the most important economic reform item on the Narendra Modi government’s agenda. This is one reform which affects all of us. The Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a value-added tax levied on most goods and services sold for domestic consumption. The GST is paid by consumers, but it is remitted to the government by the businesses selling the goods and services. In effect, GST provides revenue for the government. Goods and Services Tax (GST) is an indirect tax levied in India on the sale of goods and services. Goods and services are divided into five tax slabs for collection of tax - 0%, 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%. The pros and cons of implementation of GST were discussed over. Also students pointed out the ignorance of common man and his interpretation regarding the same. Students participated very well and brought the discussion to be more informative.





 Department  of Commerce organized an Industrial Visit  on 16th January, 2018 at Eastern Group of Companies ,  Adimali,  for 104 students of IIndyear B.com (Fin, Cop, & CA). The visit was organized with prior permission and guidance of principal Prof. Murukan Babu.C.R , Vice-Principal Dr. Joju. C.Akkara and Dean of Commerce and Management Dr.Jalendran.E.S.  Commerce Department HoD Ms. K.T. Annie and the external activity coordinator Ms. K.K.Jessy gave guidelines to the students. Ms.Dhanila.K.V, Ms.JessyRapheal, Ms.Josephena Joshy ,Mr.Jaise Jacob, Mr.Krishnakumarand Mr.Saneeh Kumar accompanied with the students.

We have conducted a “ Green  Classroom “ activity on 11.01.2018  in our college on behalf of  Nature club. We distributed a money plant to each of the class rooms. The program was inaugurated by Daly mam, Director of Nirmala group of Institutions. Our Vice Principal Dr. Joju  C. Akkara, Dean Jalendran Sir and all the Head of Departments were present on the occasion. It helped to promote the “GO GREEN “ through the Nature club. The committee members made sure that the plants that were safely kept. 




Women’s club of Nirmala College of Arts and Science, Meloor, Chalakudy had organized a “Mehendi Competition” on 11th January 2018 in our college auditorium from 1.00 P.m. to 2:30 P.m

The competition was conducted under the guidance of Raisa Sulthana miss (teacher in charge) and elected women’s club coordinators.  Nineteen teams were participated in the competition. The theme of competition was Indian Traditional design .They made beautiful designs on their hands with help of Henna. The judges were astonished to see the efforts of the students. Participants were found to be very enthusiastic and talented in the competition.

The following staffs were invited as Jury members-

 The participants were continuously encouraged and appreciated by other teaching staff of our college. Four teams were declared as winners and their names are as follows-

The department of Malayalam conducted a seminar on the topic “Malayala Naadaka Sahithyam” on 06-01-2018 from 1.00 to 3.00 pm in the college auditorium for S2 batches B.Com A B C, BBA, BA, BTTM, BCA, BSc. CS, BA Multimedia & BSc. C&FD. It began with a prayer recited by the students and seminar conducted by the students Surya S, Himal K R, Heera Krishnan, Varun, Shanavas T S, Rosemaria and Athira E B. Welcome speech was delivered by Smina Yohannan and Vishnu Santhosh proposed the vote of thanks.


The department of Hindi conducted a seminar on the topic “Hindi Sahithya Ka Ithihas” on 06-01-2018 from 1.00 to 3.00 pm in the college seminar hall for S2 batches B.Com A B C,BBA,BA,BTTM,BCA,BSc. CS,BA Multimedia,BSc. C&FD. It began with a prayer recited by the students and seminar conducted by the students Megha Mohan, Abin K M,Sreelekshmi M S,Jerin Johnson,Ancy Varghese, Lakshmipriya K S, Anna Elizebeth Louis,Abhirami K S and Chaithra Manoj. HOP ON HOP OFF Boat tour- heritage sites and museums

Tourism department conducted a field visit for tourism students on 12th December 2017 to Muziris region- the hub of Kerala’s ancient spice trade. This sightseeing boat tour is offered by Muziris heritage project under DTPC. It was a golden opportunity for the students to experience monuments and museums under Muziris project. 

1. Paravoor Jewish Synagogue- It is the 2nd largest Jewish synagogue in India and built in 1615.the synagogue will help to understand or study about Jewish life, the social hierarchies etc.

2. Sahodaran Ayyappan Museum- This is the birthplace of sahodaran ayyappan,  a renowned social reformer, thinker and administrator. His house is restored and modified to a museum now.

3. Paliam Palace museum- It is considered as the traditional home of Paliath achan ( prime minister to the king of Kochin) and it came to be called as kovilakam or palace.

4. Paliam Nalukettu Museum- It is a typical traditional kerala house, consisting of four blocks with a rectangular courtyard in the centre, known as nadumuttam.

5. Basilica of Our Lady of Snow, Pallipuram-. The church was established in 1503, renovated in 1931 and rebuilt in 2006. The Portuguese built a fort at Pallipuram as a watchtower in 1503. It is the oldest existing European fort in India. At the same time, the Portuguese built a church for the believers of the surrounding area and dedicated it to Our Lady. It was the church at that time where Christians in that area gathered together for worship.

6. Azhikode Marthoma Church-The Marthoma Pontifical shrine is a major pilgrim centre that comes under the Muziris Heritage Project. The bone of the right arm of St. Thomas was brought from Ortona in Italy and enthroned in the present Pontifical shrine. From then on, the shrine at Azhikode has been a great pilgrimage centre attracting thousands from all around the world, irrespective of caste and creed.

7. Kottapuram fort excavations- Built in 1523, the Cranganore or Kodungallur Fort later came to be known as the Kottappuram Fort. Kottappuram Fort, right at the mouth of the River Periyar, is a tribute to the Portuguese military genius. The fort tells the story of the rise and fall of many rulers through four centuries. 



Sports day was held on 8th of December 2017. We began it with a simple Opening Ceremony. Initially, the Principal, Mr. Murukan Babu C R, addressed the gallery. The Chief Guest, Prof. A M Mathew, ( Director of Nirmala College of Engineering), cherished the students for their performance in March past and encouraged their interest in sports activities followed by  an oath.

There were about 400 students. Most of them were competitors and spectators. Some of them were the official and members of the cheering teams. There were three Houses namely Zenobia ,Daffodles and Zinnia . Most of the athletes joined the popular events like 200 meter , 800 meter, 4*100 relay and so on. We have conducted around 20 events.

All the students enjoyed themselves and had an unforgettable Day

NITZ – Nirmala Tunes

Nirmala college of arts and science launched a college radio “NITZ – Nirmala Tunes” on 7/12/2017 within the campus. Nitz provides infotainment.  It is the voice of young sensations. College radio provides a wide opportunity to the students in the RJ profession. Amal ,Rose Maria, Reema, vani and Veena were the radio jockeys. Best wishes given by Mr.Tommy puthanagady, chairman of Kalabhavan universal media academy, Kochi and RJ Rashhed, radio Mango and Best FM 95.5 from Thrissur and Kozhikode. He gave some tips for improving the programmes. NITZ share students wishes’,honours,campus news and general information to the listeners. It is a great platform and exposure for the students. The college radio gives relaxation and happiness through music and songs. The programme airs at lunch break everyday from 12.25-1.00 pm.


GST’s Effect on Kerala Economy - External Seminar

The department of commerce conducted a seminar on GST for B.Com students on 28th November 2017 from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm at Nirmala College auditorium.The class was lead by Mr. Jagadeesh A D, the former chairman of CMA, Thrissur chapter. He explained how GST affects Kerala economy. The class was very informative and interesting. Head of the department, Mrs.Annie K T welcomed the guest. Mr.Nazmal Nazeer of S6 BCom (Fin) proposed vote of thanks.


The 2nd Arts Festival of Nirmala College of Arts and Science , “DHWANIKA” got off to a colourful start here on Wednesday morning  on 29  November 2017.

The festivals fundamentally act as a tool for self discovery for the young minds. Here we stressed the role of co curricular activities in shaping the attitude to life in the impressionable minds and called upon the adults to take a healthy outlook towards the competitions in college arts festivals.

Even though the stipulated number of items the university has given is 80  on stage, 30 off stage items. We are happy to conduct the majority of items on the scheduled time - 61 on stage, 37 off stage items. It is with great pride that we announce the participation of  226 students.

The stage came alive with vattapattu and folk song, Students showcased an array of cultural motifs in the form of Bharathanatyam, Mohiniyattam and Kuchupidi. Mimicry, kadhaprasangam and folk dance were the cynosure of the day.

The vibrant and energetic participation of the students were evident in the colourful array of the programmes on the stage. The programme came to a close at 3.30 Pm on 30 November.

In connection with national press day on 16th November 2017,a newspaper making competition was held on 13th November 2017 in our college. The competition was for S2 BA English and BMMC students. It was a two hour competition. In this competition students made newspaper with their own idea and creativity. A speech on National press day on the topic ‘Freedom of press’ was delivered by Anjaly of S2 BA English in the morning assembly. The newspaper made by the students were handwritten with all the contents like news,advertisement,cartoons,editorials etc. An interactive session was held among the students about the newspaper making competition . It was a great opportunity and experience for the students. The newspaper made by the students were exhibited in the  college campus.


 A  media seminar  was arranged for S1&S3 BA English and S1 Multimedia students on  23 October 2017 in the seminar hall on the topic ”Ethics in Journalism”. The seminar was led by Mr. Santhosh John Thooval, senior journalist in Malayala Manorama, Thrissur. The class was interactive and interesting. He briefly explained about the ethics in journalism with examples and basic terms in journalism. Students asked him several questions related to the profession.


A PTA meeting was organized in the college premises exclusively for the SI students and parents. It was held in the College auditorium from 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm on 20 OCT 2017. The Director, Mrs. Daly Sajeev, the Principal, Prof. Murukan Babu C R and the Vice Principal Dr. Joju C Akkara and the GM of Nirmala group of institutions Mr K Mohanan addressed the gathering. A core committee was selected for the PTWA. MS. Suma Menon, HoD of Management welcomed the gathering and Ms. Lekha Vasudevan, HoD of Computer Applications and Multimedia proposed the vote of thanks.



S1 BA English and Multimedia students of our college were given an opportunity for a media visit on Thursday , 19/10/17 from 7.30-10 pm. The students were taken to Flowers channel, Piravam . They attended a programme “Comedy super nite”. The programme was anchored by Suraj Venjaramood(film actor)and Aswathy. Students got a chance to interact with celebrities. They learned about the programme production, camera by live. It was an awesome experience for students. Students were accompanied by Namitha Sunny (Eng dept),Ammina Jenu(Multimedia), and Arun Obroy(Librarian). Teachers and students got a platform to perform on the stage.


The general body meeting of PTWA and progress card signing of S5 batches was held on 13 October from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm. The Principal Prof. Murukan Babu C.R and the the Vice Principal Dr.JojuC.Akkara addressed the gathering. Mr. Avin Jose spoke about the role of PTWA and seven members volunteered to be a part of the core committee.  Parents were given a feedback in detail about the performance of their children.Mrs. Annie K.T welcomed the gathering and Mrs.Lizy K.P proposed the vote of thanks.


A one day workshop on film making was organized for the S3 and S5 BMMC students on 10th October 2017 in the college premises. Mr. Antony Paul, Co-founder and Editor of IdeaRoots Creative Solutions was the invited speaker. The students made a short film by themselves during the session. The various areas of the film making including acting and scripting were handled by the students themselves. 


The College union and Arts club activities were inaugurated in the much anticipated ceremony IGNITRA’17. Dr.Dharmaraj Adat, the Vice Chancellor of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit was the invited chief guest. The Vice Chancellor used this occasion to launch N-LIST, the online library facility provided by inflibnet Mr. Manoj Guiness  released ‘DWANIKA’, the Arts club logo. Mrs. Daly Sajeev, the director of the institution presided over the function. The Princpal, Prof. Murukan Babu C.R officially welcomed the gathering. Mr. Krishnakumar G, the returning officer administered the oath of office to the newly elected members The Vice Principal Dr. Joju C. Akkara and the GM of Nirmala group of institutions Mr. K Mohanan felicitated the occasion. The programme commenced with an elegant dance performance and concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. ShyamPrasad, the college union chairman.


A one day Workshop was conducted on the Role of Logistics in International Business to both Management and Commerce students by Mr. S. R. Krishnan, Academic Head, Logistics and Supply Chain Management ( International  Academy for Logistics Management), Cochin, which was held at Nirmala College of Arts and Science, Meloor. 

The programme started with the welcome speech by Ms. S. Suvetha of S3 BBA and Ms. Surya. S of S1 BBA and the Vote of thanks were proposed by Christo Baby Antony of S3 BBA.

It was an interactive and informative session, which included the concept of Logistics, its evolution, objectives, importance, process and relevance of Logistics in International Marketing. The workshop included a variety of videos, which explained how the Logistics Management works.

At the end of the session the participants received the certificate for attending the workshop. Altogether the session was very informative and added knowledge in pursuing their Add-on Course, which is the part of their Academics.

They also provided an opportunity for the Final year BBA students to make their career in Logistics and Supply Chain Management through International Academy for Logistics Management.



Nirmala college of Arts and Science celebrated World Tourism Day on 27/09/17 under the Travel and Tourism department. This year world tourism day focused on “sustainable tourism”- A tool for development. This programme inaugurated by Mr.Renji Thomas(former manager of Gulf Air –Nepal). Related to this event department conducts poster making competition, Brochure competition, Quiz competition etc...


As a part of social club activity ’Benevolent eye’ a blood donation camp was held in the college (26/09/17) in association with IMA blood bank, Thrissur. The IMA blood bank presented certificates for the doners. They gave a memento to the college as their token of love.




An External seminar On New Facets of Entrepreneurship was at the Seminar Hall on 22.09.2017. It was an informative interactive session, which was handled by Mr.K.SFazalu Rahman, The Business Development Manager, ACER India PVT LTD. Theprogram me started with the Welcome Speech BY AdwinDavis (S5 BBA)and S. Suvetha (S3 BBA).The Seminar was all about how to be a good Entrepreneur, and the different qualities required to run a business. He discussed about new entrepreneurs who have extra ordinary thinking.

Nirmala College of Arts and Science celebrated the teachers ‘day on 13 September 2017. On this day we commemorate the memory of our second President Dr. S Radakrishnan. The students decorated the campus and expressed their gratitude towards their teachers by making bouquets and by distributing chocolates to them. The whole campus adored by balloons and posters. The posters exhorted the teachers services to the learning fraternity.


Nirmala College of Arts and Science conducted Onam celebration on 31st August 2017 with various programmes like Pookalam competition, Tug of war and many cultural programmes. Teachers and staff also participated in  the stage programmes. The day was colourful. Students arranged sumptious feast  in memory of Onam.



World Fashion Day is celebrated to celebrate and commemorate the glory, spirit and art of fashion throughout the world, and to highlight the achievements of national, regional and international significance in the fashion world over the past year.

An exhibition was conducted by I, II and III B.Sc. Costume and Fashion Designing students on Tuesday 30th August 2017 at 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm. 

‘The world of creativity’ was an exhibition which explored the creativity, fashion and stories. I, II and III year designing students participated and showcased their creativity through bottle art, posters and bottle designing. It was on show for 11/2 hours and visited by the students of NCAS. It was primarily their creation, although the Department was on hand to support and guide them throughout the project. It was a very public-facing, and therefore a comparatively highrisk, project, but the students proved that, when trusted, they could deliver something high-quality and amazing. There were objects from across the collection: paintings, 3D works, and posters. Each piece had a text panel and creativity which revealed its secret.



In today's society, photography plays an important role to our visual minds and it has always been considered to have a special status for truthfully recording the world and making people perceive photographs as something real. 19th August is celebrated as "World Photography Day" all over the world every year, In connection with this celebration ,the Dept of Multimedia co-ordinated a Workshop on Photography on Monday 21st August 2017, which was led by the famous fashion photographer Mr.Reji Bhaskar. The workshop was so informative as he covered almost all areas of photography. The students of multimedia and fashion designing attended the workshop

A photography exhibition 'FOCUS' was also organized by the S3 And S5 BMMC students in connection with the Photography Day Celebration on Monday 21st August. The event was inaugurated by the famous fashion photographer Mr.Reji Bhaskar .The photographs taken by the Multimedia students were exhibited and the exhibition was inaugurated by Mr.Reji Bhaskar . A presentation on the technological aspects of photography was also arranged in the exhibition stall so that the visitors could clear all their doubts related to photography. The students also exhibited various types of Cameras.

As a part of Independence Day celebration a speech and quiz competition were conducted in Nirmala College of Arts and Science College on 14th august 2017. Many students participated. Students prepared and displayed posters and artworks in the campus. Different types of programs are organized to cultivate the spirit of patriotism among new generation. Ms.Lekha Vasudevan, HOD of Computer Application and Multimedia delivered Independence Day message to the students.

On 14th August 2017 Nirmala College of Arts and Science conducted a Personality Development class for 5th semester students. The session was taken by Fr.Jomy Thottiyan. He is the editor of 'Kerala Sabha' and he is the author of many famous articles. The session was highly motivative and the students were enlightened.

A one day workshop was co-ordinated by the support of our Alumni Mr.Midhun Mohanan for the Sem 5 BCA students. The trainer has been working as an Android Developer at Innovature Softwares, Kakkanad, Kochi for 6 years  and he was a BCA student of year 2007-10 Batch (M G University Off Campus). The class started with JAVA concepts and later on he explained the basic platforms and components of Android. The main topics covered include various versions of Android, Architecture of Anroid platform, UI controls, Activity, Layout, Content Provider, Intent etc. The class was so informative and interesting.


Vanitha Magazine Team conducted Cover Girl competition in Nirmala College of Arts and Science campus. Twenty two students of the college actively participated  in the contest


 Nature is an infinite source of beauty. Sunrise and Sunset, Mountains and rivers, Lakes and glaciers, Forests and fields provide great joy to the human mind and heart .Everything in nature is splendid and divine. Every passing day, every season of the year unveils some aspect of natural beauty.  

THANAL’-The nature club of Nirmala college of Arts and Science was inaugurated on 07/07/17 by the principal Prof. Murukan Babu. Vice Principal       Dr. Joju C Akkara presided over the function. Prof Murukan Babu gave a talk on ‘How to Protect Our Nature and Make It Green’. He also advised the students to save environment from various hazards. Both the principal and the vice principal released the logo of Nature club and handed  it  over to the Nature club secretary Heloise Joshy. There was oath taking and after that students took part in the green Nirmala project by planting trees inside the college campus


 An orientation programme was conducted for SEM III BCA and BMMC students on Wednesday 28th June 2017 at 2.00 pm. The program was conducted by Infaum Educational Technology Pvt. Ltd. which is an Authorized Center of HP Software University. At Infaum Educational Technology Pvt. Ltd.They provide training for the following courses such Basic Software Testing Training, Advanced Software Testing Training, QTP Certification Training, Automation Testing Training, QA Testing Training, Automation Tools Training, Manual Testing Training, and Selenium Training. Program commenced with a welcome speech by Ms.Alin Anna Jose, student representative of BCA after a silent prayer. Mr. Jomar M.A, Marketing Head of Infaum Educational Technology addressed the gathering and he explained the relevance of being masters in a particular area in the industry. Later the training session was lead by Ms. Lakshmi Sreenivas, and Mr. Samjith Kollara, HPE trainers in PHP with WORD PRESS. They also explained the benefits of doing PHP as an Add-on Course along with the curriculum as it will help the students to get a good placement easily after the course. The class was so informative and explained all the related terminologies related to PHP, its scope, its application areas and various job opportunities etc. The session was concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr.Harikrishnan, student representative of BMMC.

S5 Open Course Orientation Programme


Orientation Programme aimed at creating an awareness regarding the open course offered by the University. This meeting was arranged for the students of S5 at 9.30 a.m on 28.06.2017 in the seminar hall. Principal Prof. Murukan Babu,Vice Principal Dr. Joju C .Akkara and Open Course Co-Ordinator Ms. Vandana Sreeraj addressed the students.It was an interactive session where the students were co-operative and clarified their doubts regarding the course and details.HODs and Faculties of various departments addresses the students about the course in their respective departments and explained its scope.

Orientation class - CMA/CAT

Opportunities galore……….

An orientation class detailing the scope of CMA/CAT course was conducted for S3 B.Com students on 16 June 2017 at 2:00 pm. The Chairman Mr.Sugunan, the secretary Mr.Jojo and the co-ordinator Ms.Remya of the Thrissur chapter of CMA were the invited guests. The course aims to equip the students to become well versed in the maintenance of accounts, filing of returns under Companies Act, Export and Import documentation etc…….

College Reopening


Excited students filled with anticipation flocked to the campus on 14June 2017 to participate in the official ceremony arranged to mark the beginning of a new academic year…An orientation class for the parents followed the formal function. .Mr. AnoopkumarK.V, Psychologist, Wellness Hospital Ernakulam spoke regarding the importance of communication in a parent child relationship. 


Environment day is celebrated worldwide on 5 June every year to raise awareness for the protection of environment. The theme for this year was ‘Connecting people to nature, in the city, in the land from the poles to the equator.’

NCAS joined hands with Chalakudy municipality to reconnect with nature .Our Principal Prof. Murukan Babu and Vice Principal Dr.Joju .C. Akkara accompanied the students, teaching and non teaching staff to the housing colony ground. Our municipal councilor Mr. Joji V.J inaugurated the event by planting a sapling. Our Principal   and the councilor addressed the gathering after planting the saplings.
